The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU,) want to be transparent while communicating with our Veteran-Owned small business community. We want to keep you informed of the latest news, resources, and verification tools provided through our revamped website, www.va.gov/osdbu. We’ve provided the following features to assist and guide you, including the revamped Verification Assistance Program with integrated training that will assist with the Verification process; information on how to become procurement ready and Direct Connect opportunities with VA Procurement Decisions Makers; how to start your own business through the Veteran Entrepreneur Portal; and what is happening with the 2013 National Veteran Small Business Conference. The verification process can be challenging. From applying for verification to registering your business in the Vendor Information Portal (VIP), the Verification Assistance Program provides helpful tips and tools to aid you through a successful verification process.
Also part of the Verification Assistance Program, the Verification Self-Assessment Tool was designed to provide the VOSB/SDVOSB the opportunity to freely navigate the Verification process, while gaining expert knowledge in the areas of eligibility and requirements, as it pertains to specific businesses.
Another part of the Verification Assistance Program is the Verification Counseling Program was provides education, assistance, and certification to Verification Assistance Partners through Verification Counselor Training, to explain the Verification process, along with the rules of the Veterans First Program (38 CFR Part 74).

The National Veteran Small Business Conference and Expo is the premier government event for Veteran-owned businesses. More than 3,500 Veteran-Owned and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned businesses receive a wide range of information to help maximize their opportunities in the federal workplace.
