VISN 5 is comprised of four medical centers, one rehabilitation and extended care center, and fifteen community-based outpatient clinics. Comprehensive inpatient and outpatient health care is provided to eligible veterans in Maryland and portions of Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania, as well as the District of Columbia.

VA to Offer Health Care to Previously Ineligible Veterans - VA eligibility rules have changed to make it easier for more veterans to enroll in VA’s health care system. VA will now enroll some veterans who had previously been denied health care eligibility because of incomes exceeding VA’s national means test or geographic means test financial thresholds. Veterans are encouraged to contact VA’s Health Resource Center at 1-877-222-VETS (8387) or visit the VA Health Eligibility Web site at www.va.gov/healtheligibility for more information.
