West Palm Beach, Florida Man Indicted and Arrested for Impersonating a Veteran
Ronald E. Wilson, Special Agent in Charge, VA Office of Inspector General (VAOIG), Southeast Field Office, announced today that Gary Lynn Thompson was arrested by VAOIG agents pursuant to a Federal Indictment charging Thompson with three counts of making and using false writings and documents. Wilson stated that arrest was a result of an investigation by his West Palm Beach Resident Agency. The investigation revealed that Thompson had applied for compensation benefits and health care benefit using a discharge record of a veteran having a similar name. Debra Stuart, Assistant United States Attorney, Southern District of Florida, is handing the prosecution of this matter.
