Each Federal agency has a small business office that is the advocate for all small businesses selling to that Federal agency. The first point of contact for a small business selling to a Federal agency is the small business specialist. The headquarters small business offices are typically called the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization or the Office of Small Business Programs or something similar. The majority of field contracting activities have small business specialists to help small businesses selling to that contracting activity.
The Federal agency OSDBU directors have a Web site at www.osdbu.gov with more information.
Each year, Federal agencies join together at the National Veterans Small Business Conference. This conference offers training and networking opportunities to veterans at a reasonable cost.
Links to small business resources in the various Federal agencies are listed below by agency.
Additional Information:
The Vendor Information Pages Database is the only Federally controlled database in which a legal verification process is used to determine service disabled or veteran status of a small business. All companies participating in the Veterans First program under PL 109-461 are required to submit evidence of ownership / control and veteran status before being awarded a VA contract under the set-aside authority.
